Once upon a time I saw a movie called The Last Broadcast
This was when I was helping to start Film Wisconsin the replacement to the soon to be disbanded State of Wisconsin Film Office.
We know of how my work in getting Film Wisconsin going lead me and William Zenobia to first try Film Forward a Zine designed to help folks make movies in Wisconsin and then the It Came From Lake Michigan Film Fest held in Racine WI the first year then Milwaukee Wisconsin the 2nd and last year.
Not wanting to lose my interacting to the Indy Film World I started Indy Film Wisconsin Podcast from there I first started interviewing Indy film folks first in Horror film then films of all types. I dealt with issues from Self distribution to the use of social media.
I was able to interview my hero Lance Weler
and that interview quickly lead me to Andrea Phillips

She is who talked mo me about Rabbit Holes as per ARG games of course a bit of Cross Media stuff and the like I just interviewed Jerry Paffendoff about Loveland cut to the chase my minds been twisted to do more on the big rabbit hole call the net. Please follow me I am scared but eager to begin

I am no longer going to be nice and help horses drink the water ( Indy Media Types uses the new now to sell product for free) its going to be as my dear father would say Ass Cash or Gas.
Today I realized there are far too many who want an excuse of why they cant get there film out or the book sold and need to think that's its the gate keepers or the man that is stopping them, when in fact they just do not want to. Yes its scary you might fail someone may not like you after you sell your project.
Well I got too much to get done in what is left of my life to worry about it anymore.
I will contune to point out via the blog/podcast what tool are out there. Bring on guests who have done it. However I am so done in giving the advice what my help I get paid. Prove to me I am not wasting my time and you want to sell your project more then I do.

Your right I am a slug. That must change if I am to meet my goals for 2010.
First question I have is for each project a blog love to put them all in one place. I guess however should do each with its own blog.
More discipline is needed to insure I get the job done. More bloging less facebook!

Rip offs

Can I get a $1.00 for every rip off in the film world;d please. I just love the one I heard today, if you join there group you will make more money then God.
Too bad the nuts that pitched there page do not know (but good for us) that facts can be checked. And if they did do all they said they did why do they want your $20.00 a month? Did not film XXXX theyclaim they did make them 100000000000000

Whats more critical to you on Facebook/Twitter The number of followers or the quilty of interaction you have with them?
If its the number why?
To me rather have contacts who I can information with then simple numbers that offer little if anything for me

Media vs Indy Film Makers

Next show will talk about if media is simply a paid hack for Hollywood films vs doing anything to promote real indy film makers? Indy Horror films are really hit hard by that.
Point being if I am a Indy Film maker how do I get my film in the news? Why is it IMHO only films that take ads out get the Press I need?
How do they get by with that.

Nice show yesterday most live listeners to date, thanks! Sorry that Mr. Kelly has issues trying to scype in, blame Guy Ritchie.
I like the round table idea lets lots of film folks talk about issues at the same time.

No date yet but the next round table will be on how Indy Film Makers can get the word out or one on horror stories from what actors deal with and how others can avoid them.

So why do we put up with "journalists" who love to small roles in types of films they claim they hate (my Word) write for Magazines that IMHO define what said journalists hate (my word) why do we give them the cred we do? Can we not think or is it a matter of perception is reality? Myself I plan to pretend they do not exist, and soon go away.

Nudity in horror Yes In am having a round table on my blog talk radio show on Friday at 3:00PM CST you can hear it from the link below live or download.
A few points I believe in this country you have the right to make any film you wish. Films where you go nuts say kill someone for real or do child porn will and should put you in jail. Other them that up to you and good luck. IMHO far too many directors of horror films use tits when they run out of ideas. Like my guy P.J. said
THe actress is in the home knowing that Mr. Evil is near by....so she takes a shower or perhaps gets a friend to take a shower with her... makes a lot of sense right ah no other then seeing a rack does nothing for the film. Worse yet hot girl is caught by Mr bad who strips her then kills her slowly perhaps mutilating her body other then for the gratification of 17 year old boys and selling tickets is that needed? I think not.
I can make the case that Last House on the Left uses sex/violence to make a point like Death Wish did. Hills of Eyes II just IMHO a bunch of shit. See it if you want myself not interested.
If you want Porn try You Porn.
Some say you need lots of tits to make a good horror film. Sorry see the old Vincent Price films and the old Hammer films. Some great stuff there. Try The Conquer Worm suggested sex lots of killing (During the English Civil war) scare the hell out of you. Try Fire Walk with me the nude stuff etc needed for the story. Scare you too.

Hollywood is not going to buy your film

Last year over 3,000 film were entered to Sundance. About 300 were screen. stright odd to get in, 1 in 10. Your not getting in.
Out of the 300 or so I understand that 50% or so not made in the US. Your not getting in to Sunday.
No one in Hollywood knows who you are. Film buyers are buying few films. Why in hell should they buy yours?
Time to think about selling your film or how are you going to make money?
Have that plan before you make you film. Damn forgot artists do not do that. Welcome to being a waiter.

What you mean that guy who went to teck school to learn how to do busness plans, read Workbook project web page, tuned in to Indy Film Wisconsin, that ass who self distributed his film after posting trailers and writing a web comic sold how many? Who is that hot redhead with him..... Yes sir your coffie will be right up....

Indy Film Wisconsin Needs your help.

As you know I do Indy Film Wisconsin a podcast. In the last two years done over 150 shows more or less.
I have issues that I need your help with.
For me to continue the podcast I need donations to upgrade equipment and use some pay services from Blog Talk Radio.

OK I am a slug. Taking my own advice time for action here. Far too long I have been just using my Blog Talk Podcast . I now understand the effort has to be a full court press.
